On June 6, there will be a special convention held at Trinity Cathedral in Easton to determine the future of the Diocese of Easton.  Four possibilities for the future of the Diocese had been addressed at the February convention:  1).  That the Diocese of Easton call for the election of the 11th Bishop of Easton; 2).  that the Diocese of Easton call for the election of the 11th Bishop of Easton, to serve in a part-time capacity as Bishop, and in a part-time capacity as the Rector of a parish;   3).  that the Diocese of Easton seek to unite with a neighboring, contiguous Diocese of the Episcopal Church with the provision that there be a Bishop Suffragan residing in the present geographical boundaries of the Diocese of Easton; and 4).  that the Convention appoint a committee to study non-traditional models of the  Episcopate which have been adopted by other, small Dioceses of the Episcopal Church.

If you have further questions about this process, please visit dioceseofeaston.org.  Fellow parishioners Tom Shuster and Rodney Dean  would be happy to answer any of your questions regarding this process, as both have been involved in the discussions, Tom as a Convention Delegate, and Rodney as a member of the Diocesan-wide Discernment Committee.
