Episcopal Life by the Sea.

St. Paul’s by-the-Sea is a vibrant Episcopal church in the heart of Ocean City, a seaside resort town on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. One of the town’s oldest churches, St. Paul’s has a long history of ministry to vacationers and year-round residents.

Service & Outreach

Located just steps from the famous Ocean City boardwalk, St. Paul’s by-the-Sea enjoys strong ties to the local community. Four days a week, our Shepherd’s Crook food pantry opens its doors in our DeWees hall, offering food and fellowship to anyone in need. Other outreach and community events are held throughout the year, including the popular N.O.E.L. Dinner, and Labyrinth walks.

History & Architecture.

The history of St. Paul’s by-the-Sea closely parallels the history of Ocean City itself. In 1878, just three years after the first hotel opened on the island, Episcopal church services were held at Congress Hall on the site of the present-day inlet.
