Lay Ministry
St. Paul’s by-the-Sea is proud of its strong tradition of lay ministry.
In September of 2020, a number of parishioners participated in training at the Bishop’s Institute for Discipleship, Leadership and Ministry to be Licensed Worship Leaders. They led Morning Prayer when we were in the process of calling a priest. We even have a parishioner who became a lay preacher through the Bishop’s Institute.
Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest in setting up and clearing the altar, and serving the wine during communion.
We have a loyal group of lectors, ushers, crucifers and counters who often fill multiple roles on a Sunday. These are wonderful ways to serve the church and we are always looking for volunteers.
All parishioners are welcome to join any of these above ministries. Training is available. Please contact the church office at 410-289-3453 if you are interested.
The quarterly server schedule is prepared by Jody Farley who can be reached through the church office.
