Sitting Worcester County Master Mary Margaret “Peggy” Kent has been appointed to a Worcester County Circuit Court judicial post.

Peggy Kent has the respect of many in this community and is known for her fairness and toughness when dealing with complicated domestic matters as family magistrate for Worcester County.

Kent — the first woman appointed in the court’s history — began her career in law in 1980 as a staff attorney for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She then moved on to private practice, working for Paul C. Ewell before founding her own practice in 1991.

Mary Kent was appointed as a judge of the Worcester County Circuit Court – the first woman to hold the position in the court’s history.
