The Ocean Cluster of Churches, comprised of St. Paul’s, Berlin, St. Paul’s by-the-Sea and Church of the Holy Spirit, is planning the annual three-parish picnic. We couldn’t have it last year, but this year it seems safe to hold it again.

It will be August 8 from 4:30 till about 7 at Stephen Decatur Park in Berlin (a nice, shady venue just off Rt.113). Fr. Moyer from St. Paul’s, Berlin, is working on a celebration for Evening Prayer, which will be held at 5, with someone from each church participating. After that, we will eat and enjoy each other’s company. This is not a potluck event … each person will bring their own food and beverage. If you are not vaccinated, please attend anyway, but wear a mask. If you are vaccinated, masks are optional.

The Cluster of churches continues to take dinner to the Hope4Recovery House, a halfway house in Berlin for men in recovery, on a monthly basis. We rotate the assignments, so it’s either main dish and sides, or salad and bread, or drinks and dessert. We also had a very successful paper-goods drive for them in Advent, and thought it was time to do it again. If you would like to donate paper goods, such as towels, napkins, tp, Kleenex, or things like laundry soap or dishwasher detergent, all the little things that eat up up your budget, you can bring them to church by August 8 or bring them to the picnic. We will deliver them the next time we take dinner to the residents.
