8/2/20 Wishing Laura McCarthy Godspeed

Our Deacon Candidate, Laura McCarthy, has been reassigned and her last week with us will be this weekend, August 2, 2020. She will celebrate her last Sunday Service with us at the Red Doors Community Center and then begin her new assignment the weekend of August 9, 2020. Please join us to celebrate her ministry among us and thank her for the contributions she has made to our congregation.

Laura’s time with us has been extended due to the quarantine, and she expects to be ordained in the Autumn of this year. She has served liturgically as Deacon, preaching, leading Morning Prayer, and our service of Lessons and Carols as well as participating on our Saturday Evening Service with Red Doors families and children. She has been a pastoral presence, especially during the quarantine, organizing and calling parishioners who are homebound to check in on them and respond to their needs. She has also been a missionary presence, having served on Saturdays at the Shepherd’s Crook, at our NOEL Christmas Dinner and Saturday Brunches, and brainstorming ideas for outreach including a ride share program and greeting card ministry.

Please be sure to join us at the Red Doors Community Center this Sunday, August 2, at 10:00 am to celebrate and thank Laura for her ministry among us and wish her Godspeed.
