Fr. Matthew D’Amario comes to St. Paul’s by-the Sea from the Church of the Resurrection, Copley Parish, in Joppa, Maryland, where he has served since 2012 as the part-time Priest-in-Charge. A native of Baltimore, Fr. Matthew received an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Divinity degree from St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore. He was received as a Deacon in the Episcopal Church in 2009 and was ordained a priest on January 2, 2011.

Fr. Matthew has served at the church of St. John’s in the Village and the Church of the Holy Nativity in Pimlico before his calling at the Church of the Resurrection. Fr. Matthew has been a bi-vocational priest, serving a congregation and as a school teacher teaching religion, philosophy and mathematics. In addition to all of that, Fr. Matthew is fluent in Spanish and French, is a certified Emergency Medical Technician and CPR trainer, and plays the bagpipes! Fr. Matthew and his husband Craig are looking forward to their move to the Ocean City area later this summer and their lives at St. Paul’s by-the-Sea.
